Medical entrance exam NEET postponed to Sept 13 due to COVID-19 pandemic.

On Friday the HRD Ministry has announced the postponement of Medical entrance exam NEET to September 13 in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. This has been done because of the prevailing situation arising out of the pandemic Covid-19.

Now the JEE (Main) exam will be held from September 1 to September 6; the NEET exam will be held on September 13 while the JEE (Advanced) will be conducted on September 27, 2020.

HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' tweeted "Keeping in mind the safety of students and to ensure quality education we have decided to postpone #JEE & #NEET examinations. JEE Main examination will be held between 1st-6th Sept; JEE advanced exam will be held on 27th Sept & NEET examination will be held on 13th Sept."

More than 15 lakh students applied for NEET 2020 while nearly 9 lakh for JEE Main exams.

The decision on JEE Main & NEET will impact around 9 lakh JEE Main candidates and approximately 16 lakh NEET candidates.
