Highlights

With a vision to create relatability between natural fabrics, comfortable clothing and the bohemian soul, Sagrika Grover launched her brand Essgee at the young age of 21

Classic pieces can be elevated but simple difference in their cut and in their fabrications, and it's for these reasons that you will be obsessed with pieces from Essgee's collections. On top of that, all the clothing pieces are made using natural fabrics, so not only are they soft, they have an evergreen style that is made to luxury standards and can be worn during festive season.

Coming from a family of garment exporters, Sagrika grew up in factories and production fields-being drawn to textiles and apparel since childhood. Her mother being a textile designer piqued her interest and played a crucial role leading her towards this industry as well. Realizing her love for bohemian wear, she noticed that resort wear was termed as casual attire in the market; seeking to change the preconceived notion, Sagrika experimented with luxury fabrics such as linen, silks, cottons, thereafter developing a clothing line breaking the notion.

Sagrika shares, "Essgee is a brand envisioning a luxury bohemian aesthetic. It's a fresh take on resort wear which is not just limited to be worn on vacations but can be a part of your daily lifestyle as well. Coming from a family of garment exporters, I grew up in factories and production fields-being drawn to textiles and apparel since childhood. My mother being a textile designer piqued my interest and played a crucial role leading me towards this industry as well.

After studying fashion from fashion Institute of Technology, New York, I saw my path even more clearly and started working towards my brand."

An everyday escape into the extraordinary, the brand uses simple silhouettes cut from luxurious fabrics -silks, taffetas, organza's, chiffons aiming to help the customer travel and explore in style. Essgee's vision is to create relatability between the customer and designer's love for natural fabrics, comfortable clothing and the bohemian soul. It holds deep-rooted value: It encourages people that fashion doesn't have to be harmful to the environment. Essgee is a brand that uses its own prints to curate the designs. Sharing about the initial challenges that Sagrika faced, she says, "Since luxury and bohemian were two words never used in the same sentence, we had difficulties in conveying the idea to the Indian market. Slowly and gradually with our collections we found our target customers who never stopped coming back to us."

Essgee wide range of collections is here to solve the trick of the trade with pieces that will see each and everyone through most days. The festive season has just begun and it's the perfect time to upgrade your arsenal with fusion wear and ethnic dresses to avoid the last-minute chaos. These versatile clothing garments are made to last for years to come, be it dressing up for the warmer months by adding accessories or layering it with additional pieces for when the temperature drops! These garments are here to stay and can be reused multiple times for different types of occasions.

Essgee is a brand that focuses on simple cuts and outlines, using colour palettes like neutrals- curating foundational elements for our wardrobes so that they can be easily mixed and matched with other trendier items to build those well-balanced, forward looks. These are items that one would routinely wear on repeat and would essentially never-give-up thanks to their versatile nature.

"The pandemic impacted us for the good. We went back to our roots again - luxury and comfort. On our brand's second year anniversary, which was in the midst of the pandemic, we launched a lounge and sleep capsule, both equally loved by our community. We are in the midst of a pandemic and in these unprecedented times, nothing made the heart happier than being comfortable and looking great as well," concludes Sagrika.
