Avoiding acid-forming foods such as cheese, meat, chicken helps a lot, according to Dr Renuka Sreedevi Mudambi. She was speaking at the Ficci Ladies Organisation (FLO) meeting here on Wednesday.

Two other experts, Dr Manjula Anagani and Sridevi Jasti, spoke on Pre- and Post-Menopause Management and Sustainable Health and Nutrition. Sona Chatwani, the chairperson of FLO, said, "Women are more concerned about their kids and husband and hardly bother about their own health.

The day-long sessions were planned keeping that in mind." Eating patterns are linked to mental health. Those who are low in self esteem eat sweets and the ones with liver-related issues eat a lot of spices, she shared. Close to 60 members attended the programme.
