    Gangada Sujatha is Mayor of Ongole Municipal Corporation


    Ongole: The YSR Congress Party announced that the 18th division corporator Gangada Sujatha is selected as the mayor, 25th division corporator Vemuri Suryanarayana as deputy mayor and 21st division corporator Yanamala Nagaraju as party whip for the Ongole Municipal Corporation.

    The minister for energy, environment, forests, science and technology Balineni Srinivasa Reddy handed over the required forms to the corporators in his house this morning. The YSRCP corporators, along with the minister Srinivas Reddy, MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, Santhanuthalapadu MLA TJR Sudhakar Babu attended the first ever council meeting of Ongole Municipal Corporation after it was upgraded from municipality.

    Three killed in road mishap near Vinukonda

    In a ghastly road accident, three persons were killed on the spot at Sivapuram under Vinukonda mandal in the wee hours of Thursday.

    According to police, a mini lorry broke down and the driver stopped the vehicle at the roadside to repair it. A 12-tyre lorry coming in the same direction crashed with the stationery mini-lorry, which resulted in the killing of three persons on the spot. The Lorry driver went to the police and surrendered. The police rushed to the spot and inquired about circumstances that led to the road accident. They are trying to trace details of the deceased. The Police registered the case and took up the investigation.

    Kalpalatha Reddy elected MLC from Krishna-Gutnur Teachers constituency

    T.Kalpalatha Reddy was elected to the State Legislative Council from Krishna-Guntur districts Teachers constituency in Guntur district on Wednesday mid-night. The officials announced that she got 50 percent of the votes. When she got 6,153 votes , the officials announced that she was elected to the State Legislative Council.

    Sepaking on this occasion, she thanked the teachers, lecturers and Professors who elected her. She said that she will try to solve the problems of the teachers.
