Vijayawada: With the final electoral roll for 2026 scheduled to be published on October 16, the NTR district administration will take up another round of door-to-door verification of voters identified under the Absent, Shifted, Dead and Duplicate (ASDD) categories from October 8.
District collector Dr G Lakshmisha said on Wednesday that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) had conducted the enumeration exercise through house-to-house visits between June 15 and July 24 as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. During the exercise, 1, 23, 714 electors were identified under the ASDD categories.
A draft electoral roll published on July 31 contained 15, 89, 731 electors in the district. Subsequently, another 12,786 persons were identified as ineligible during the notice and verification process up to October 6, the Collector said.
As part of the fresh verification, BLOs will visit households from October 8 to verify the names included in the ASDD list. If an eligible voter is found to have been deleted inadvertently, the BLOs will accept a Form-6 application for inclusion in the roll and initiate action under the continuous updation process. Eligible citizens whose names are not included in the final roll can apply through Form-6 with the required documents.
Electoral rolls are continuously updated with January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1 as qualifying dates. Dr Lakshmisha appealed to eligible citizens to ensure their names are included in the electoral roll and exercise their right to vote.
