Couple killed after bike collides with courier vehicle on Hubballi-Gadag bypass

Dharwad : A couple was killed in a late-night road accident on the Hubballi-Gadag bypass after their motorcycle allegedly collided with an oncoming courier goods vehicle. The deceased have been identified as Rajani Tikala and her husband Sukumar Tikala, residents of Jayarajnagar.

Rajani was working as a nurse at a private hospital in Hubballi. The couple was reportedly returning home on a motorcycle after she completed her duty when the accident occurred.

According to preliminary information, a courier goods vehicle coming from the opposite direction collided with the motorcycle carrying the couple. The impact was severe, and both Rajani and Sukumar died at the spot.

The accident took place late at night, and information about the incident was subsequently conveyed to the police. Personnel from the East Traffic Police station reached the spot and conducted a preliminary inspection.

The bodies were taken for further procedures as police began collecting details about the accident. Investigators are examining the circumstances that led to the collision, including the movements of the motorcycle and courier vehicle immediately before the crash.

Police are also gathering information about the courier vehicle and its driver as part of the investigation. The exact cause of the accident has not yet been established.

A case has been registered at the East Traffic Police station in connection with the incident. Police are examining available evidence from the accident spot and collecting information from those who may have witnessed the crash.

The deaths of the couple have left relatives and residents of Jayarajnagar shocked. Further details are expected to emerge as the police investigation progresses.
