Lured as beauticians by travel agents, two siblings from city were pushed into domestic drudgery, forcing them to work for 15 hours a day.
Chanchalgua: Lured as beauticians by travel agents, two siblings from city were pushed into domestic drudgery, forcing them to work for 15 hours a day. Concerned over the well-being of daughters who were stuck in Oman, their mother approached MBT leader Amjedullah Khan, seeking his help to take up the matter with the Ministry of External Affairs.

On Friday, the anxious mother, Ajmera Begum, a resident of Nizamabad, appealed for the rescue of her two daughters Shaheen Begum and Asma Begum stuck in Oman, after being lured with lucrative job of beautician.
According to MBT leader, the two daughters of Ajmeri Begum were in search of jobs as their husbands were not looking after them properly. Both the women were offered job of beauticians in Muscat by a travel agent and believing in the offer, they went to Muscat. "
They both were promised that they could stay and work together, and food and accommodation would be provided by the employer and that they will be paid Rs 25,000 each as salary," he said. Falling prey to the offer, first the elder sister reached the Gulf country, followed by the younger one. After they arrived in Oman, they were taken to a recruitment agency. But to their shock, they were sent to work as housemaids.
Moreover, after some days, both were asked to stay away from each other and work separately, informed their mother. "They are being asked to work for 15 hours daily and the food and accommodation are not good. When my daughters wanted to return, the recruitment agency is demanding Rs 2 lakh each for their release," said Ajmera Begum.
Both the daughters have left behind three minor children under Ajmera Begum's custody, who is taking care of them. But due to her old age, who is already struggling owing to her physically handicapped husband, is not able to take care of them. Khan informed that given the gravity of the matter, he took up the case with Dr Subrahmanyam Jayshankar, Minister for External Affairs (Govt of India) and Indian Embassy in Muscat, and requested them to rescue both the sisters at the earliest.
