A man, who hugged and landed a kiss on a sub inspector, during the Bonalu procession in Nallakunta has been booked by the police for misbehaving and obstructing a cop on duty.

According to Nallakunta Police, P Bhanu (28), a resident of Malkajgiri was high on spirits and had joined the Bonalu procession on Sunday. While dancing in the procession, he spotted sub-inspector K Mahender, who was on bandobast duty. Bhanu pulled the SI towards him and hugged the SI and kissed him suddenly.
Shocked at the incident, the cop immediately slapped him and pushed him away. Later, when the SI tried to move towards him, Bhanu continued his dance as if nothing had happened. Some of the persons in the procession shot the shocking video in their phones and later, uploaded it on the social media which went viral and turned as a hot topic among the citizens.
The police detained Bhanu on Monday by registering a case against him. They were surprised when Bhanu told the police that he had hugged and kissed the SI as a gesture of appreciation for the hard work done by the police department.
