Hyderabad: The disqualified MLA Danam Nagender case took a new twist on Saturday after he filed a special leave petition in the Supreme Court against the Telangana State High Court’s verdict disqualifying him under anti-defection laws. The BJP Legislature Party Leader in the State Assembly, Aleti Maheshwar Reddy, who was one of the petitioners before the State High Court, filed a caveat in the apex court against the SLP. The petition is currently pending. The BJP leader has filed a caveat in the Supreme Court, seeking to hear his arguments before issuing any interim orders or stay orders on the petition filed by Danam Nagender.
Maheshwar Reddy said that, by filing the caveat, the Supreme Court has to hear his arguments before issuing any interim order on Danam Nagender’s petition.
As a result, the Court is likely to issue further orders only after hearing arguments from both sides.
