Nampalli: The Telangana Voluntary and Community Health Workers Union (ASHA) members tried to organise a protest meeting on solving their problems and for fixed salaries at the Hyderabad district Collectorate near Nampally here on Monday. The Police prevented them in organising the protest and arrested 15 members.

The ASHA workers conducted a road blockade to express their anger. Speaking on the issue, they said, "Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao promised ASHA workers about the fixation of their salaries on May 5, 2016, at Pragathi Bhavan, but the promise has not been implemented yet, though the pressure on ASHA workers is increasing day by day." He added that apart from the work pressures, ASHA workers were also allotted election duties and other works.
