Hyderabad: MA&UD Minister KTR held a meeting with the HoDs of MA&UD department at Pragathi Bhavan. The Minister asked the officials to develop slip roads and main roads in the western part of city at the earliest.

At the meeting, KTR discussed about identifying locations for slip roads and missing link roads in the IT corridor. Minister directed the officials to find out more locations where there was a need for developing new roads in the city.

Later, he instructed municipal administration department officials to initiate talks with Railway officials where there is a need to construct Road under Bridges and Road over Bridges. He opined that traffic congestion could be eased if minor stretches of new connecting link roads were laid.

According to sources, the officials are making plans of laying link roads from Borabanda - Miyapur main road to Hi-Tec city and Madhapur areas. New linkage roads and main roads would be laid from Jubilee Hills to Knowledge city, Old Bombay Highway.

The government would also develop new arterial roads from Financial District to Kokapet, Tellapur, Nizampet, Kukatpally, Hafizpet connecting Outer Ring Road.

Mayor Bonthu Ram Mohan, MA&UD Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar, GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar, Chief City planners, chief engineers participated in the meeting.
