Former Minister and Warangal East MLA Konda Surekha stated on Sunday that the Congress high command recently contacted her indicating that her husband, Konda Murali, could be given a position in the party or government. Addressing supporters and party workers in Warangal, Surekha lamented that political loyalty has declined in present-day politics compared to the past, recalling how she once resigned from her ministerial post out of absolute loyalty to former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Emphasizing that political positions are temporary, she expressed gratitude to party cadres who stood by her family during difficult times.

Rejecting speculation regarding her political future, Surekha urged supporters not to believe false propaganda about joining another party, affirming that she was born in Congress and will remain within its fold. While expressing disappointment at being dropped from the Cabinet without a valid reason, she maintained that she served without corruption and remains committed to high command decisions.

Describing a ministerial portfolio as merely an ornament, she expressed confidence in contesting Warangal East again on a Congress ticket and regaining a Cabinet post. She also predicted that Congress would win 25 divisions in the upcoming Warangal Municipal Corporation elections.

Surekha noted that she and Konda Murali changed parties in the past strictly due to unavoidable circumstances, emphasizing they never defected after winning on another party ticket. Indirectly targeting MLC Baswaraju Saraiah, she questioned demands for her resignation, cautioned him against irresponsible statements, and accused his family of land grabbing and extortion. Furthermore, she alleged that BRS leader Dharma Reddy established a political stronghold in Parkal after her departure by accumulating vast wealth to influence leaders.

Recalling her political journey from Mandal Parishad President to Cabinet Minister, Surekha mentioned that former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao once offered her family a Warangal ticket specifically to defeat Saraiah. Reaffirming her loyalty, Surekha stated she prevented supporters from creating public unrest following her Cabinet removal, reiterating that she and Konda Murali will continue their political journey strictly under Congress leadership guidance.
