Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy said that of late the State government has been functioning in strange ways.

Addressing the people after releasing the Telangana Prantha Upadhyayula Sangham (TPUS) diary at Stanley College here on Sunday, he said that earlier the Chief Ministers used to meet the leaders of peoples organisations. But now, it is a different and strange situation in Telangana. He said that the State government had insulted the teachers by not assigning them election duties during the recently-held GHMC elections.

The State government has come to its senses only after people gave a shock to it in Dubbaka and GHMC elections. It has announced to notify the DSC and all the credit of it goes to the people. He said that teachers in Telangana have been left in the lurch with no one on their side for the last six years. He asked the TPUS to step up its ante and fight for the cause of teachers in the State.

The Minister, while participating in the 'Wear a Mask' awareness programme on Sunday at Yousufguda Basti crossroad, Jubilee Hills and Himayatnagar Y Junction, asked the people to take necessary precautions as the trouble of Covid was not yet over.

"The Centre had suspended flights to and from the United Kingdom and issued fresh guidelines to the State governments to take necessary steps," he reminded. Later, the Minster distributed masks to people in Himayatnagar and asked them to take necessary precautions in the wake of Covid second wave. He asked senior citizens and children not to venture out during the cold winter days.
