Food safety raids expose shocking violations at eateries
Hyderabad: The Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential drugs conducted searches on food establishments across different locations on Friday, uncovering multiple violations of food safety norms and suspending licenses with instructions to stop business operations immediately. Officials suspended the license of SK Bakers and Fast Food at Ayodhya Nagar in Mehdipatnam due to expired food articles, uncovered rice kept beside dustbins, raw egg mayonnaise, greasy kitchen floors, housefly infestations, poor refrigerator maintenance, and missing worker hygiene records or medical certificates.
Similarly, officials suspended the license of Pista House Restaurant at Muthangi Village in Patancheruvu Mandal over clogged drains, cockroaches, damaged vessels, unseparated vegetarian and non-vegetarian storage, mixed cooked and raw meat storage, broken washing areas filled with waste, unequipped workers, and fly infestations.
Furthermore, inspections at Ganapathi Hotel Mess and Hostel near Patancheru Bus Stand revealed dark, greasy kitchens, cockroaches in chutney and rice boxes, rat faeces on vegetables, rotten vegetables, expired goods, fungus-ridden store-room dal, and absent water analysis reports.
