Hyderabad: The pandemic has brought many changes in the lives and lifestyles of people. Most of the citizens started using their own vehicles instead of opting for public transport. Taking advantage of the increase in the number of vehicles, crooks in the guise of parking-fee collectors have started mushrooming at various places in the city.
People going to public places are oblivious to the fact while parking their vehicles and are falling prey to such cheats and paying them money. Vijay Gopal, a social activist realising the play of bluff masters, brought the issue into the limelight. He lodged a complaint against culprits involved in the illegal trade with Abids police recently. Confirming the FIR filed, Anjaiah, SHO, Abid's police station said, "We have registered a case with Cr.no. 288/2020 U/s 420,188 IPC on the complaint given by Vijay Gopal against Mayur Kushal Complex Association guys for Illegally collecting Parking Charges. Necessary action will be taken against the culprits."
Citizens express that continuous FIRs against this illegal parking charges collection mafia will help society become corruption-free. "Police department knows all these activities in advance, but they are least bothered to take action by themselves and wait for someone to lodge a complaint. Police should act responsible and punish those who are cheating public and making money illegally," said Amith Trivedi, a resident of Ameerpet. "Enforcement of the law is poor in our city. Telangana police department is at stake because of their direct involvement to safeguard political power. More stringent laws will make the system stronger and corrupt-free. According to India Corruption Survey-2019, Telangana is the fifth most corrupt state and it would reach to 1st place sooner," said Dinesh Kumar, Interior Designer.
The fake parking-fee collectors are making business in front of big bazaar in Abids, near Charminar, at Ayurveda Government College, Begum Bazar and many marketplaces. People are awestruck with the new advent.
