Hyderabad : Even as the TRS MP D Srinivas has been challenging the party to take action against him, MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Friday said that taking no action was also an action.
In an informal interaction with the media, Kavitha said that there was need to talk about the disgruntled leader. The Nizamabad unit has recommended his suspension from the party and the State party has to take a decision on this. However, 'taking no action was also an action', said Kavitha.
Kavitha said that the Congress party had become a regional party now. "The Congress was no more a national party, it was now the 'Indian Notional Party'. The party literally died in Nizamabad, she said. The TRS leader said that there was a good response to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's decision to have a conclave of non-BJP and non-Congress parties in the city during December second week.
She said that apart from the political parties, the farmers' organisations, trade unions also came in support. The TRS leader has been invited to attend a meeting on the 'Kisan Diwas' on December 23 in Punjab.
She said that there was a need to fight against the anti-farmer and anti-people policies of the Centre. The main focus of the party would be on this and a mass movement was necessary. Talking on the disinvestments in public sector units, she lashed out at the BJP leaders alleging that the BJP was trying to sell heritage properties to run the show.
She also alleged that the saffron party leaders were talking lies for votes. "We got to know that the BJP is trying to up an organisation which will create more fake news. The TRS party is strong at the grassroot level and it is preparing to counter the fake news," said Kavitha. On the question of supporting the Acts brought by the Centre, she said that the party supported the Government of India, but not BJP.
Replying to a question on who would be second in GHMC, Kavitha said that the difference between TRS and opposition parties was big and the party would win Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation election with a majority of seats.
