Hyderabad: Most wanted house burglar arrested by north zone police

Notorious thief Mantri Shankar who was in the list of 'most-wanted' offender was arrested by the North zone task force police on Friday. The police also took three other people into custody and seized Rs 12 lakh cash, silver ornaments and two vehicles.
Mantri Shankar who was involved in around 300 theft cases has been arrested 30 times so far and is a native of Nasik in Maharashtra. However, he got settled in Hyderabad has three wives and six children.
Giving details to media, Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar said that they have arrested Mantri Shankar who was branded as a most wanted criminal and his associates Abdul Latif Khan, Mohammad Majid, Mohammad Intiyaaz were also detained.
"Mantri Shankar has been committing the offences since 1979 and around 250 cases were registered against him in three commissionerates. The gang used to conduct recce during the day and commit the crime in the night time i.e, between 1 am and 4 am," said Anjani Kumar.
The CP also said that Mantri Shankar was released from jail on December 4 and has committed six thefts in the last 20 days. The cases were registered at Kushaiguda, Vanasthalipuram and Begumpet police stations.
