Postal ballot facility for Covid-hit voters

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Election Commission has given postal ballot facility to Covid-19 positive voters as well as voters above 80 years of age and electors, who are marked as Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).

Hyderabad: The State Election Commission has given postal ballot facility to Covid-19 positive voters as well as voters above 80 years of age and electors, who are marked as Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).

The same facility was extended to them during the recent Dubbaka by-election. Covid-19 patients, who tested positive after November 1 can avail the postal ballot facility.

They have to enclose a medical test certificate along with an identification document. Electors were told to apply for the postal ballot through application form 22-A physically or through official website (tsec.gov.in). Also, the SEC has asked every candidate filing nomination for GHMC polls to file an affidavit on a Stamp Paper of value of Rs 20 or file an affidavit sworn before a notary or a magistrate of the First Class with information relating to criminal antecedents, assets and liabilities and educational qualifications failing which application will be rejected.
