A 25-year-old woman jumped into a lake after throwing her two daughters here at Jawaharnagar on Saturday night after a quarrel with her husband.
A 25-year-old woman jumped into a lake after throwing her two daughters here at Jawaharnagar on Saturday night after a quarrel with her husband. The incident came to light on Sunday morning when the locals saw the bodies floating in the water.
The victims were identified as Nagamani (25) and her daughters Rubi (5) and Pandu who is three-month-old. It was learned that Nagamani asked her husband to send her to maternal home for Christmas. However, the man refused to her request and asked her to go after the festival. An argument broke out between the two later following which the woman left the home with her two daughters.
When the woman did not return home, her parents-in-law and husband lodged a complaint with the police. However, the three found dead in Chennapuram lake.
The police who rushed to the place recovered the bodies from the lake and sent for post-mortem. The police said that Nagamani had quarrelled with her husband and resorted to the extreme step in a fit of anger. A case has been registered and a probe has been ordered.
In a similar case, a woman jumped into a lake along with her children in Karimnagar in March 2020. The bodies of all the three were found in SRSP lake. The woman is said to have walked out of her home with her children and later found dead in the lake.
