Hyderabad: In view of upcoming Ganesh immersion festivities, HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath on Friday inspected arrangements at local waterbodies to ensure a smooth and hassle-free immersion process.

With ongoing development works underway at IDL Lake in Kukatpally, HYDRAA made special provisions to facilitate the immersion of large idols. The depth of the lake has been increased to over 25 feet through desilting and subsequent refilling with water to safely accommodate taller idols.

During the ground review, AV Ranganath accompanied by departmental officials inspected heavy cranes installed near the main road for lowering thousands of idols into the water.

Officials also briefed the Commissioner regarding machinery deployed to swiftly remove immersed idols from the lake during proceedings. Expressing satisfaction over execution, AV Ranganath instructed HYDRAA personnel to maintain continuous inter-departmental coordination and closely monitor operations so devotees encounter no difficulties.

Following the IDL Lake review, AV Ranganath visited Anjaneya Nagar to examine public grievances submitted through the Prajavani mechanism regarding obstructions along a 100-foot-wide road. Local residents had approached HYDRAA alleging that the road running alongside under-construction White-water Apartments had been illegally encroached upon and blocked.
