Residents cry foul over mounds of garbage in the vicinity of JBS

Hyderabad: Heaps of mixed garbage dumped along the road in the vicinity JBS raised significant concerns over sanitation and maintenance along a major public transport corridor. The waste, spread across open spaces beside a compound wall, includes plastic covers, food packets, newspapers, vegetable waste, discarded cloth, thermocol, household refuse, black garbage bags, and packaging material accumulated over a stretch. Additionally, dry leaves, organic waste, construction debris, and bulky items worsen conditions. Given the proximity to JBS, which experiences heavy daily commuter and vehicular traffic, open dumping tarnishes the surroundings and creates an unhygienic environment for passengers, pedestrians, and local residents.

Waste accumulating near vegetation along the compound wall poses serious public health risks. During rains, stagnant water collecting around decomposing waste creates ideal breeding conditions for mosquitoes and disease vectors, while rotting organic material attracts stray animals and insects.

Commuters and residents emphasized that regular clearance and strict monitoring of vulnerable points are critical to prevent recurring dumping. Locals urged civic authorities to inspect the area, clear accumulated debris, maintain regular sweeping schedules, and deploy suitable garbage bins or designated collection facilities where required. Maintaining clean surroundings near JBS is essential for public convenience and municipal upkeep.

Expressing frustration, commuter Prashanth stated that a busy hub used by thousands of passengers is being converted into a dumping ground, demanding immediate clearance and continuous monitoring.

Local resident Anitha noted that simply removing existing waste is insufficient, urging authorities to identify underlying causes of repeated dumping, ensure regular sanitation, and enforce strict action against illegal dumpers to maintain long-term cleanliness across the transit zone.
