HYDRAA foils encroachment bid at Fox Sagar
In Short
HYDRAA foils an illegal soil dumping and encroachment attempt at the Fox Sagar Lake diversion canal in Hyderabad, seizing heavy machinery and restoring the area.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency foiled an attempt to encroach upon the diversion canal within Fox Sagar Lake limits by illegally dumping soil and construction debris.
According to HYDRAA, the incident came to light on Friday near the Fox Sagar sluice gate in Subhash Nagar, where officials noticed individuals dumping waste into the canal using heavy machinery. Acting swiftly, officials stopped the illegal activity and seized the vehicles involved, including a JCB, a tipper bearing registration TS12UB6476, and a tractor with registration TS19TA1588.
The agency handed over the seized vehicles and their owners to Pet Basheerabad Police Station, which launched an investigation. HYDRAA also initiated work to remove dumped soil from the diversion canal and restore its original condition. As part of the Fox Sagar Lake restoration drive, the agency removed an embankment constructed within the lake Full Tank Level limits, alongside a cement road laid to provide access to a farmhouse.
HYDRAA reiterated its commitment to protecting water bodies, preventing encroachments, and safeguarding lake boundaries.
