Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy
Hyderabad/New Delhi: Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy on Thursday welcomed the decision to provide a Performance Linked Reward bonus of Rs 1,10,250 to eligible Singareni workers. He said the decision was taken at a meeting of the Joint Consultative Committee of Coal India, comprising representatives of national trade unions. Extending Deepavali greetings to Singareni employees and their families, he said it was heartening that workers would receive the substantial reward during the festive season. The announcement followed a meeting of the Coal India Joint Consultative Committee at its headquarters in Kolkata, where national trade unions agreed on the bonus for eligible employees for the 2025-26 financial year, based on operational performance.
Earlier, during Dussehra, Singareni had disbursed an average of Rs 1,53,912 to each worker under its profit-sharing initiative. The latest bonus will provide additional financial support to workers’ families during the festive season.
Kishan Reddy said the tireless efforts of Singareni workers in meeting the country’s energy requirements and supplying coal for industrial growth were invaluable. Commending their dedication under challenging working conditions, he particularly appreciated underground mining personnel for sustaining industrial productivity.
He said the Central Government under Prime Minister Modi accorded priority to workers’ welfare alongside coal sector expansion.
