KTR holds CM responsible for Adilabad infant deaths

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president KTR on Tuesday asserted that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy must take full responsibility for the tragic deaths of three infants in a fire at Adilabad RIMS Hospital, alleging that the Chief Minister has completely devastated the public healthcare sector since assuming office. Expressing deep distress over the electrical short-circuit accident, KTR noted that 23 other infants sustained injuries and demanded immediate superior medical care to save their lives. He alleged that the major accident, which claimed innocent lives, occurred solely due to gross failures, lack of government oversight, and poor maintenance in the children ward by the Congress administration despite prior warnings from local BRS leaders regarding deplorable hospital conditions.

Demanding state-wide safety interventions, KTR urged the government to conduct expert safety inspections across children wards and intensive care units in all government hospitals to prevent similar tragedies. On behalf of the BRS, he demanded an ex-gratia compensation of Rs 25 lakh for each grieving family affected by the government incompetence. Simultaneously, the BRS leader strongly condemned the police assault on former MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar at MGM Hospital in Warangal, describing the high-handed police behaviour as atrocious and utterly reprehensible.

KTR stated that Vinay Bhaskar had visited MGM Hospital to inquire after patients injured by falling debris, only to face police obstruction and physical assault that resulted in a broken arm and physical injury. He called upon the Chief Minister and Home Minister to answer for the incident, demanding an immediate comprehensive inquiry alongside strict disciplinary action against the responsible police personnel. Emphasizing that public representatives possess the right to visit facilities and console citizens, KTR urged the state administration to respect democratic rights while addressing public grievances. The BRS leader reiterated that the state government must prioritize public health safety, maintain basic medical infrastructure, and compensate victims of administrative negligence promptly.
