KTR to participate in Vishal Diwan today
As part of 550th “Prakash Utsav” (birth anniversary) of Sri Guru Nanak Devji, a ‘Vishal Diwan’ (mass congregation) will be held at Exhibition Grounds in Nampally on Tuesday.
Afzalgunj: As part of 550th "Prakash Utsav" (birth anniversary) of Sri Guru Nanak Devji, a 'Vishal Diwan' (mass congregation) will be held at Exhibition Grounds in Nampally on Tuesday.
The presidents of Prabhandak Committees S Gurucharan Singh Bagga (Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha) and S Baldev Singh Bagga (Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad) said MA & UD and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao will be attending the celebrations of 'Vishal Diwan'.
They informed that around 40,000 Sikh devotees and members of other communities would be converging at the programme. The event would be marked by recitations of Gurbani Keertans (holy hymns) by reputed Ragi Jathas (religious preachers) coming from different parts of the country, to render Gurubani Shabad Keertans.
Bhai Amarjeet Singhji of Patiala, Bhai Devinder Singh Singhji Khalsa of Sohanawale, Punjab, Hazuri Ragi Jathas, Bhai Hari Singhji, Bhai Karnail Singhji, Bhai Jagdev Singhji, Bhai Harwinder Singh and other reputed Ragi Jathas will recite Shabad Keertans and Kathas, and throw light on the teachings of Guru Nanak who stood for peace, equality and humanity. After the culmination of the congregation, Guru Ka Langar (free community kitchen) will be served to the devotees.
'Lighting up the sky'
Prabhandak Committees will take up 'Lighting up the sky' activity in Hyderabad. Special candles (lanterns) will be released to go up in the sky on Wednesday at 8 pm. Necklace Road from Jal Vihar towards People's Plaza up to Lumbini park has been finalised for the release of lanterns.
Later on, a Keertan Darbar would be organised at Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Afzalgunj, from 9 pm to 2 am, during which famous Ragi Jathas will recite Gurubani Keertans.
