Hyderabad: Police authorities issued orders closing liquor shops and toddy compounds across the Hyderabad, Malkajgiri, and Cyberabad commissionerates in view of Ganesh immersion proceedings on Friday.
The dry spell comes into force from September 25 at 6 am and will remain effective until 6 am on September 26. Police warned shop owners to comply strictly, stating stern action would follow any violations.
Meanwhile, 300 SHE teams were deployed across the tri-commissionerates to detect molestation, abusive behaviour, and harassment against women during festivities.
Officers will record video evidence before initiating legal action. Police officials also urged organisers and devotees to maintain peace and refrain from hate speech.
