7,400 e-toilets under use
Hyderabad: The e-toilets built on the BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) basis with latest technology as part of better amenities to citizenry are running successfully, informed the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials on Wednesday.
In order to reduce open defecation significantly in the city, the GHMC has taken steps to maintain and make full use of 7,400 toilets in 3,500 areas. In order to provide better facilities and to put up them to optimum utilization, the maintenance of public toilets has been given to the agencies through tender procedure.
The agency would clean the toilets at least three to five times a day and QR code is allotted to each toilet to get the information on timings of cleaning and also to get the public opinion on the maintenance of toilets which will be reviewed by the GHMC Additional Commissioner and Zonal Commissioners.
