MMC identifies 39 Ganesh immersion points in 3 zones

Hyderabad: The Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation identified 39 designated Ganesh immersion points across Uppal, Malkajgiri, and LB Nagar zones to ensure safe and orderly idol immersions during the upcoming festival. The civic administration distributed these facilities across various circles, utilizing natural lakes, baby ponds, and portable artificial tanks to reduce pressure on major water bodies and manage devotee movement efficiently.

Uppal Zone features ten immersion points spanning Kapra, Uppal, Boduppal, and Ghatkesar circles. Kapra includes Kapra Baby Pond, Cherlapally Baby Pond, and the AS Rao Nagar portable tank. Uppal has Nalla Cheruvu Baby Pond and Ramanthapur portable tank. Boduppal offers Peerzadiguda Pedda Cheruvu, a portable tank at Raa Cheruvu, and Chinthal Cheruvu in Chengicherla. Ghatkesar features lake-based points at Edulabad Lake and Rampally Cheruvu.

Malkajgiri Zone holds the largest share with 20 immersion points across Alwal, Bowenpally, Moula-Ali, and Keesara circles. Alwal includes Kotha Cheruvu, Bathukamma Park, Bhoodevi Nagar Park, and Mannevarikunta. Bowenpally offers Hasmathpet, Boin Cheruvu, and Shenoy Playground in Marredpally. Moula-Ali features Safilguda Lake and Banda Cheruvu.

Keesara circle accounts for 11 points, including Shamirpet, Thimmaipally, Ankireddypally, Cheeryala, Chennapur, Pothaipally, Thumukunta, Devyammjal, Dammaiguda, and RGK Kotha Cheruvu, alongside an artificial tank at Kowkoor Bus Stop.

LB Nagar Zone comprises nine immersion points across Nagole, LB Nagar, Saroornagar, and Hayath Nagar circles. Nagole features Nagole Cheruvu, Mansoorabad Pedda Cheruvu, and an artificial tank near the Hayath Nagar MPDO office. LB Nagar provides Saroornagar Lake and a site below the flyover at Bairamalguda Junction. Saroornagar and Hayath Nagar circles also host two artificial immersion facilities each.

The strategic distribution of lakes, baby ponds, and portable tanks aims to prevent environmental degradation while ensuring secure, hassle-free festive proceedings for local communities across the municipality.
