Nalgonda woman goes missing during morning walk in Boston
Hyderabad: A 23-year-old Nalgonda woman, who moved to the USA for higher studies, went missing under suspicious circumstances after leaving for a morning walk in Boston. Family members identified her as Koya Srija Reddy, a native of Shabdallapuram village in Kanagal mandal, Nalgonda district, who travelled to the USA last year to pursue her Master of Science degree at Boston University while working part-time.
On Monday, November 2, Srija Reddy left her home for a morning walk and failed to return.
When her mobile phone remained switched off, alarmed roommates and friends alerted local law enforcement and informed her parents in Nalgonda. Boston police and specialized units launched an intensive search operation around Carson Beach and Harbor Point using helicopters and drones. Meanwhile, relatives in her native village are plunged into deep grief, praying fervently for her safe return.
In response, Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy contacted Telugu Association of North America members in Boston to oversee search efforts.
He also urged Union Minister G Kishan Reddy to intervene and assist in communicating with the Consulate General of Boston to accelerate the search. TANA representative Krishna Prasad briefed the Minister that search efforts have intensified following official emails. Venkat Reddy urged authorities to expedite operations, noting the family extreme distress.
