No need of middlemen for smart ration cards: MLA Veerlapalli Shankar
Shadnagar: Local MLA Veerlapalli Shankar clarified that no political recommendations are required for the sanction of ration cards. “Eligibility alone is the standard,” he said. The MLA stated that every eligible family can apply at a MeeSeva centre, and after officials’ verification, ration cards will be issued according to the rules.
Participating in a Smart Ration Card distribution programme at the Shadnagar Municipal Office on Sunday, the MLA handed over cards to beneficiaries. On this occasion, he emphasized that the people’s government prioritizes welfare for the poor.
He stressed that there is no need to approach middlemen or pay money. Criticizing the previous KCR government, he alleged that poor families were supplied with substandard maize rice. He further accused certain brokers of buying rice meant for the poor at low prices, polishing it, and selling it at higher rates under the name of fine rice.
Currently, through smart ration cards, measures are being taken to ensure transparency and accountability in ration distribution. Shankar stated that the primary goal of the people’s government is to provide food, shelter, and security to the poor while improving their living standards. He assured that no eligible family will be left out of welfare schemes.
