NRR leads advocates’ protest against Rahul Gandhi
Hyderabad: Advocates, led by state BJP president N Ramchander Rao, on Tuesday held a protest at the Telangana High Court against the “theatrics of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi” outside the Supreme Court. The protesting advocates raised slogans like ‘Rahul Gandhi down down’, ‘Save Democracy’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’. Rao, a High Court senior advocate, asked how far it is justified to seek an appointment with the Chief Justice of India to submit a political memorandum.
“It is the job of the lawyers to file a petition. Surprisingly, Rahul Gandhi does not know this. There are prominent lawyers with him. It is not known whether they advised him or not,” he told reporters.
Rahul Gandhi has received support from hardline organisations in Bangladesh when the former spoke against the judiciary, he alleged.
Referring to a now-deleted post against CJI Surya Kant from the official Congress Keralam ‘X’ account, he alleged Congress leaders also spoke against the CJI.
He said Rahul Gandhi and Congress leaders are undermining and questioning the credibility of constitutional institutions.
The BJP further alleged that Congress is trying to make people lose faith in the judiciary by blaming and organising rallies on the roads.
