Saifabad: Former Rajya Sabha member from Assam Prof Nagen Saikia has been selected for the NTR 'Jatiya Puraskar'. This was announced by NTR Vignan Trust Puraskar Committee Vice-chairman K V Ramancahary.
He said the award, along with cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, would be conferred on Prof Saikia on May 28 (NTR's jayanti) at Ravindra Bharati. Committee chairperson Lakshmi Parvati said the award was being presented during the last 12 years to prominent literary personalities. She described Prof. Nagesh Saikia as a prominent writer and critique.
