Hyderabad: Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Tuesday assured justice to farmers of Sivaru Venkatapur village in Markook Mandal under Gajwel Constituency of Siddipet District. After the aggrieved villagers submitted a formal representation alleging loss of rights over ancestral lands due to alterations on the Dharani portal, the Minister directed department officials to conduct a comprehensive probe, ascertain facts through revenue records, and ensure justice for eligible owners.
A delegation of farmers, including Thummala Satyanarayana, Sheri Poshayya, Sheri Srikanth, Putta Vittal, Putta Dayanand, and Bachali Jahangir, met Srinivasa Reddy at the Secretariat to submit their grievance petition.
According to the representation, villagers have been cultivating approximately 134 acres of agricultural land spread across Survey Numbers 38, 41, 47, 85, 88, and 100 on the outskirts of Venkatapur village for generations. However, they alleged that following the introduction of the Dharani portal, their land rights were severely affected due to record alterations, leading to loss of physical possession.
Presenting pre-Dharani passbooks and historical village maps to the Minister, the farmers stated that officials of the previous administration had collected their original passbooks under the pretext of issuing new documents but failed to return replacement titles.
