Minister for Revenue, Housing and Information and Public Relations Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy holds a high-level review meeting with officials at the Secretariat on Friday to assess the progress and implementation of the land re-survey
Hyderabad: Revenue, Housing, and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has directed officials to prepare a comprehensive action plan to complete the state-wide land resurvey within 18 months, aiming to make Telangana free from land disputes in line with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s vision.
The minister held a high-level review meeting with officials at the Secretariat on Friday to assess the progress of the re-survey and review its implementation.
Emphasising speed, quality, transparency and continuous monitoring, Ponguleti said a comprehensive land survey was being undertaken in the state after nearly 125 years. He urged officials to utilise the opportunity responsibly to resolve long-standing land issues and prevent future disputes. The government has appointed 14 officials from the Revenue and Survey departments to supervise operations across seven zones, with two officials assigned to each zone. They were instructed to monitor progress, maintain quality standards, assess public feedback and make decisions based on local conditions.
The first phase covers 2,768 villages, including 365 villages that previously had no maps, with 70 villages being covered in each district. The survey has been completed in 245 villages, and officials have been directed to finish the first phase by the end of November.
The government has arranged to conduct surveys in at least two revenue villages in every mandal. Two teams have been constituted for each mandal, comprising a licensed surveyor, a GPO, a deputy tahsildar or revenue inspector, a senior assistant, a junior assistant and supporting staff.
The minister directed tahsildars to inspect survey locations daily. Officials must maintain records of the areas surveyed, acres and survey numbers covered, village-wise progress, public response and operational challenges. He stressed that the process must be accurate and free from errors.
Ponguleti instructed officials to establish a dedicated dashboard in Hyderabad to monitor the re-survey across the state. It will display real-time progress, daily performance, village-wise completion status, active survey teams, and the deployment and locations of rovers. He assured officials that funds would be made available immediately for survey equipment, rovers, servers and other technical requirements, directing them to procure additional rovers wherever necessary.
The Minister ordered weekly state-level reviews and announced that he would personally review progress every 15 days. Officials from the departments must also be present during boundary identification while surveying government lands.
