Rahul harbouring ‘desperate hopes’ of toppling NDA govt: Kishan Reddy

Union Minister accuses Congress leader of undermining constitutional institutions

Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy
Hyderabad: Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy lashed out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, stating that the latter was harbouring "desperate, last-ditch hopes" of toppling the NDA government.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, the Union Minister challenged Rahul Gandhi to bring down the Modi government, which was elected by people in the country.
He pointed out that in major powers like the United States, the electoral process and vote counting continued for months and the India’s independent Election Commission was ensuring the will of its 1.4 billion citizens is reflected through a fair process, with results declared in just a single day.
Kishan Reddy criticised Rahul Gandhi for constantly attempting to undermine such constitutional institutions and smear the Election Commission. Expressing his indignation, he remarked that Rahul Gandhi lacked the basic common sense to understand that while political parties and governments may come and go, one should never destroy the very systems that uphold the nation.
Kishan Reddy further condemned the attempt to drag National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval—who has earned an indelible place in the hearts of the nation’s youth and its people for his role in safeguarding national security—into the political fight, calling it a "highly malicious act." Ajit Doval is a selfless patriot who has worked for the nation.
The Union Minister mocked Rahul Gandhi’s conduct as the Leader of the Opposition, describing it as highly irresponsible. He dismissed as laughable Rahul’s boastful claims that senior police officers, as well as officials from the CBI, the ED, and the Ministry of External Affairs within the NDA government, are in touch with him and leaking information.
He further criticised Rahul, stating that since the country’s independence, it has never witnessed such an irresponsible and feeble "fake Leader of the Opposition." He recalled the precedent set by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who—despite having significant differences with the Congress party—agreed to lead the Indian delegation to the United Nations during the tenure of P.V. Narasimha Rao’s government, prioritizing the nation's interests. He advised Rahul Gandhi to study history and learn from such values.
