Indian Railway Institute of Financial Management is capable of generating 90% of its own power needs

Moula Ali: It was a day of double delight for South Central Railway as a state-of-the-art hockey stadium and Indian Railway Institute of Financial Management (IRIFM) were opened on Sunday. The former is close to the headquarters and the latter at Moula Ali. IRIFM was inaugurated by Vinod Kumar Yadav, Chairman Railway Board.

The International standards institution, which has come up in a 14 acre campus at Moula-Ali, Secunderabad marks a very important addition to the list of premier professional institutions in the country, in the field of financial management.

IRIFM has come up as an architectural marvel incorporating all the nuances of a green building, with the world renowned architect, Hafeez Contractor designed the project. Trainees at the Institute would have access to world class infrastructure and technology tools. There are

10 different functional blocks, constructed with stilted columns for support, showcasing the concept of Biomimicry, a very contemporary idea in architecture. An administrative block, academic block, auditorium, hostel blocks, sports block, library, mess etc., have come up as part of the Institution, all showcasing modern standards. IRIFM can handle around 150 trainees at a time.

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) executed the project at a cost of Rs 85 crore. The green building is capable of generating 90% of its own power needs with solar installations in the campus besides recycling 100% of the water consumed.
