Parijatha Narasimha Reddy sets sights on cadre unity and electoral gains

Rangareddy: Following her appointment as the first female District Congress Committee chief of Rangareddy district, Chigirintha Parijatha Narasimha Reddy has made frequent appearances at party programmes to strengthen the organisation from the grass-root level.
She is fully aware that rebuilding the party represents a critical test due to prevailing internal discord among local leaders. The All India Congress Committee announced her appointment on the sidelines of the upcoming biennial elections to the graduate constituency.
Ahead of her lies a series of severe political challenges to prove her mettle, particularly against former Minister and BRS legislator from Maheshwaram P Sabita Indra Reddy, who maintains a powerful grip over the district.
From participating in public meetings and constituency surgeries to holding daily discussions with party workers and addressing press conferences, Parijatha Narasimha Reddy is strategically using her resources to revive Congress fortunes in a region once considered a party stronghold.
Addressing a gathering in the district recently, she stated that her top priority is uniting party leaders and cadres to achieve favorable results in upcoming elections. She committed to taking state government welfare schemes and development initiatives directly to the public across the district to bring voters closer to the party.
Her administrative experience as former Mayor of Badangpet Municipal Corporation, combined with support from her businessman-turned-politician husband, will assist her navigation through local party friction. However, observers note that her direct face-off with a political stalwart like P Sabita Indra Reddy will ultimately shape her future political career. Describing Parijatha Narasimha Reddy as a deserving choice for the DCC chief position, senior Congress leader Shahabuddin noted that the decision was finalized after extensive deliberations.
Shahabuddin stated that appointing a woman to lead the district party reflects the core policy of Congress to empower women in every sphere, beginning within the organization itself. He added that Parijatha Narasimha Reddy is an experienced leader with sufficient political knowledge to tackle issues facing district leadership and effectively guide the party toward success in upcoming electoral contests.
