Revanth outlines steps to resolve 22-A land issues

Hyderabad: The state government has announced a series of measures to address various issues relating to properties included in the prohibited lands list under Section 22-A of the Registration Act. The government said it would introduce new regularisation policies and constitute committees to examine pending applications and facilitate registrations in eligible cases.Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy

said on Wednesday that the government had identified 12 ‘specific’ issues relating to properties included in the Section 22-A prohibited list and would soon introduce a new policy for Urban Land Ceiling (ULC) lands. Speaking in the Legislative Assembly during a short discussion on the Section 22-A issue, the Chief Minister said pending registration applications for plots in authorised layouts approved by HMDA and DTCP would be resolved within a week. Revanth Reddy said the government was framing regulations to address the inclusion and removal of lands from the Section 22-A list in future. Collectors and Revenue Divisional Officers (RDOs) would be empowered to remove private lands that had been erroneously included in the prohibited list, he said.
