RTC Crossroads: TSRTC Employee Union served a strike notice on the management, demanding job security to drivers and conductors, immediate implementation of pay revision, merger of RTC into government and resolution of various other demands. The union president SK Babu and secretary K Raja Reddy met RTC Executive Director (Administration) Venkateshwar Rao here on Tuesday and handed over the strike notice.

Speaking to media after serving notice, SK Babu said that TSRTC employees had been facing many problems and alleged that the management has failed to address their issues. The management failed to provide financial assistance to employees and many workers committed suicides depressed by the excessive work load imposed on them, he alleged.

He said that the financial position of the RTC was in a precarious position and the management was not able to pay salaries on time. It is high time that bus charges were raised as RTC was incurring heavy losses, he said. The union demanded that the state government concede the demand for merger of RTC with the government before September 17 and warned of strike if the issues are not addressed by then.

Among those who were present on occasion include union leaders Venkanna, Mohammad Ali, Gopal, Ram Reddy, Rajender, Trilochana, Jakaraiah, Swamy, Muralidhar, Sai Reddy, Majid and others.
