Attapur police trace viral Instagram footage and apprehend three youth riding without number plates

Hyderabad: Attapur Police arrested three youths for performing dangerous bike stunts, riding at excessive speeds, and creating public nuisance on city roads. The accused recorded and circulated videos of their reckless driving on social media platforms.
Police identified the arrested individuals as Md Mohinudin, 24, a driver from Kachiguda, Mohammed Rizwan, 21, a private employee from Yakutpura, and Tohid, 19, a private worker residing near Kachiguda.
According to police, the incident occurred on Tuesday night near Attapur Pillar Number 257, close to Flipkart Godown, during routine patrolling operations. Police noticed viral social media videos depicting three youths riding Honda Dio scooters lacking registration number plates.
The riders drove rashly while performing life-threatening stunts on public roads, posing serious hazards to motorists and pedestrians. The viral footage was uploaded to Instagram, subsequently coming to police attention.
Based on a formal complaint lodged by Attapur Patrol Car In-charge K Anjaneyulu, Attapur Police registered a criminal case under Sections 281, 125, and 3(5) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita alongside relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. Following investigation, police identified and apprehended all three accused.
Attapur Police issued stern warnings against reckless riding, wrong-side driving, speed racing, and performing stunts on public thoroughfares and flyovers, particularly around Attapur and the PVNR Expressway. Police warned that strict legal action will be taken against individuals endangering public safety, emphasizing that CCTV camera footage and social media posts will be systematically analyzed to track offenders.
