To mark the 150th Gandhi Jayanti on Wednesday, SCR Divisional Manager Anand Pandya, Additional DM Subramanyam and local corporator Ragam Nagender Yadav participated in the Swachh Rail, Swachh Bharat programmes held at Chandanagar railway station near Old Papireddy Colony.

Serilingampally: To mark the 150th Gandhi Jayanti on Wednesday, SCR Divisional Manager Anand Pandya, Additional DM Subramanyam and local corporator Ragam Nagender Yadav participated in the Swachh Rail, Swachh Bharat programmes held at Chandanagar railway station near Old Papireddy Colony.

While suggesting to the residents to keep their surroundings clean, the VIPs planted saplings in the station and its adjoining areas. The SCR officials and Yadav inspected the newly built RuB costing Rs 2 crore.

The DRM pointed out that people were facing hardship on account of rainwater inundating the bridge. He said the GHMC staff was removing water with the help of motors. Yadav urged SCR officials to prevent collection of water at the bridge. He called for installation of CCTV cameras in the railway station and the colony-railway station road to be widened for the benefit of pedestrians.

Anand Pandya directed the SCR officials to take immediate steps, while agreeing to put up CCTV cameras and take up road-widening. Among those present were senior SCR Divisional Engineer Subash, railway officials, TRS leaders B Kondal Reddy, Srinivasraju Mudiraj, ward members P Rambabu, Srikala, Ramana, Ramesh and Suresh.
