Hyderabad: The Telangana State Taxi and Drivers Joint Action Committee requested the transport authorities to curtail the 'tampering of fares' by three-wheelers run by the vehicle aggregators.

According to the JAC, the Ola and Uber taxis have been facing an issue of fares as opposed to fares of Uber and Ola autos for the last six months. Ola and Uber autos have seen a spike in their fares, which caused resentment among the taxi drivers. "Although the ministry of transport authority has fixed the rates, there's a tampering of fares.

The department of transport authority has entirely failed in making a decision," alleged Shaik Salauddin, the JAC chairman.

Speaking to The Hans India, Salauddin said the issue emerged during lockdown, despite fixed rates of motor cabs.

"The officials are not taking forward the issue to the State government. Telangana's cab drivers are facing negligence from the authorities, when compared to other States.

The other States regularly hold meetings to understand their issues, but officials here are not calling for any meeting," Salahuddin rued.
