LB Nagar: The Lambadis Aikya Vedika on Tuesday urged the State government to go to the rescue of the families of 12 poor farm labourers killed in a road mishap in Mahbubnagar district on August 4.

Vedika president Dr Rajkumar Jadhav said in statement that the government assistance was necessary as the families were poor. He demanded an ex-gratia of Rs 25 lakh each to the families of the victims, sanction of a 2 BHK house, allotment of three acres of land and a government job for a family member.

Dr Jadhav criticised minister Srinivas Goud's announcement of sanctioning Rs 1 lakh to each victim's family by the government, besides Rs 5 lakh under the accident insurance scheme. He warned that the Vedika would not be silent until the government conceded the demands.
