Hyderabad: Government Whip and Telangana movement activist Addanki Dayakar stated that they would not accept a ‘Dorala’, feudal Telangana dominated by landlords under any circumstances.

“We will launch another movement against those who plundered Telangana’s lands,” Addanki Dayakar said.

Speaking at Gun Park on Wednesday, Dayakar welcomed Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s proposal to establish a Telangana Martyrs’ Colony in Erravalli. He said the initiative would provide support and recognition to the families of those who sacrificed their lives during the Telangana movement.

Dayakar alleged that large tracts of government, assigned, Bhoodan and Waqf lands had been encroached upon during the previous BRS government. He alleged that some lands meant for the poor and Dalit families were diverted to influential individuals and their alleged benamis. He called for the recovery of such lands and their allocation to the families of Telangana martyrs.

Former MLC Ramulu Naik also alleged that large-scale land irregularities took place after the formation of Telangana under the Dharani land-records system. He claimed that movement activists and poor families had been deprived of lands and said the activists would continue to press the government for the return of lands they believed had been taken from them.

Meanwhile, families of Telangana martyrs welcomed the proposed Martyrs' Colony at Erravalli. At Gun Park, family members performed Palabhishekam on a portrait of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy as a gesture of appreciation.

Members of the Martyrs' Recognition Committee, including Addanki Dayakar, Ramulu Naik and Mothe Shobhan Reddy, were present on the occasion.
