According to sources, Malothu Ramesh and his wife Anusha has been residing in Veetharajupallitanda village for the last many years.

They already have a five-year-old son and a three-year-old daughter. Three months ago, Anusha gave birth to baby girl. However, Ramesh suspecting her fidelity has detached himself from the newborn.

In the meantime, he decided to sell baby for Rs 70,000 to Vijayawada based persons and informed the same to his wife.

On Sunday, a tiff broke out between the couple when Ramesh took the baby to sell. Unable to bear it, Anusha informed her relatives and who in turn informed the same to the police.

The police rushed to the village and counselled Ramesh. They also assured if he doesn't want the baby, the police would hand over the baby to ICDS officials for further care.
