Mahabubnagar: “The Congress government is working for the welfare and development of all sections of society,” said TPCC General Secretary AP Mithun Reddy. Addressing a press conference at the Congress office in the district headquarters on Tuesday, Reddy alleged that BRS leaders were resorting to arrogant and confrontational politics.

He said all development and welfare programmes were being implemented properly under the Congress government and alleged that BRS leaders were creating disturbances in the Assembly as they had no issues to raise before the people.

He condemned the alleged inappropriate remarks made by BRS MLC Tata Madhu against the Speaker, describing them as an insult that had lowered the dignity of society. He demanded that BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao take responsibility, remove the MLC from the party, and ensure that he resigns from his position.

Reddy further alleged that BRS leaders and a former minister in Mahabubnagar were resorting to publicity stunts to mislead people. He said people had not forgotten the alleged atrocities and high-handedness during the BRS’s decade-long rule. He claimed that people were happy with the present People’s Government.

TPCC spokesperson Zaheer Akhtar alleged that BRS MLAs created a drama on the Assembly premises at the direction of K. Chandrashekar Rao. He said that if KCR had nothing to do with the remarks made by MLC Tata Madhu against the Speaker, he should immediately make the MLC resign and expel him from the party. Otherwise, he said, it would be construed that KCR supported the MLC’s remarks.

DCC General Secretary Chandrakumar Goud, district spokesperson Kanchimi Laxman and leaders Murali and others were present at the meeting.
