‘Yennam health kits’ distributed to new mothers

Mahabubnagar: Government Whip and Mahabubnagar MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy said that the distribution of ‘Yennam Health Kits’ has increased public confidence in government hospitals and encouraged more women to opt for deliveries at government healthcare facilities. On Thursday, he distributed health kits containing essential newborn care items to women who delivered at the Mahabubnagar Government General Hospital.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the initiative was launched on November 14 last year and had received an encouraging response from people.

He said efforts were being made to improve basic facilities and provide quality medical services in government hospitals. His aim was to ensure that poor and middle-class families receive healthcare on par with corporate hospitals at government facilities. Government General Hospital Superintendent Dr Ranga Ajmeera, Hospital Development Committee member Bejjugam Raghavender, senior Congress leader Vinod Kumar and others participated in the programme.
