Jagadish demands water, power supply to drying crops
Kangal (Nalgonda): Former minister and senior BRS leader G Jagadish Reddy alleged that crops were drying up due to inadequate irrigation water and power supply and demanded immediate steps to protect farmers from further losses.
Jagadish Reddy, along with former MLA Kancharla Bhupal Reddy, inspected agricultural fields on Sunday allegedly affected by lack of water and electricity in Thimmanagudem and Telakantigudem villages of Kanagal mandal. They interacted with farmers and enquired about the condition of their crops. Later, they inspected the Telakantigudem substation and Mylasamudram tank in Kanagal mandal.
Addressing the media later, Jagadish said that immediate priority should be addressing to drying crops and farmers’ problems rather than engaging in political criticism or land disputes. He alleged that farmers were suffering heavy losses due to irregular water and electricity supply.
He demanded that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, along with ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy respond to the farmers’ concerns.
He urged the government to immediately restore adequate irrigation water and electricity supply and provide appropriate compensation to farmers who had suffered crop losses.
