Nellore: Municipal Administration Dr P Narayana on Sunday laid foundation stones for various development works worth Rs 2.80 crore in Nellore city.
The works include the construction of secretariat buildings, a park compound wall, and greenery development across the 11th, 10th, and 45th divisions. Later, he inspected ongoing projects and directed officials to complete them within the stipulated timeframe.
In NTR Nagar of the 11th Division, Narayana laid the foundation for a secretariat building costing Rs 1 crore and a park compound wall worth Rs 30 lakh, while also inspecting a primary school modernization and community hall construction in Rayapupalem.
At NDR Layout in the 10th Division, he launched a Rs 70 lakh secretariat building and initiated Rs 80 lakh worth of greenery development along the mini bypass road.
Speaking on the occasion, Narayana noted that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has sanctioned Rs 50,000 crore for developing 123 municipalities, prioritizing basic infrastructure.
He announced that underground drainage works are targeted for completion by June 12 next year under a Rs 61 crore allocation.
Furthermore, inspired by youth leader Nara Lokesh, all government schools in Nellore will be modernized on the VRC model by next year.
Mayor Sujata, Deputy Mayor Roop Kumar Yadav, Corporation SE Johnny, and other dignitaries were present.
