Maoist Committee member Nakka Suseela surrenders in Nizamabad
Nizamabad: Senior CPI (Maoist) cadre and Division Committee member Nakka Suseela surrendered before Nizamabad police on Tuesday, marking another setback for the outlawed organisation. Nizamabad Police Commissioner P. Sai Chaitanya announced her surrender at a media conference.
Suseela, also known by aliases including Rani, Latha, Lalitha, Rela Jyothi, Madhavi and Shwetha, was associated with the Maoist education department and served on the Chhattisgarh Area Committee.
A native of Bodhan, she joined the CPI-ML People’s War in February 1992 after being influenced by its ideology while pursuing her degree in Hyderabad. She later married Maoist cadres Sunkara Rammohan Rao and SCM Samalu, both of whom were killed in separate encounters.
Police said Suseela surrendered following the government’s appeal to Telangana-based underground cadres to abandon armed activity and return to mainstream society.
